Tonight was very interesting to say the least...

Driving home from Church the weather started to pick up, so I thought i would just drive as normal and just cruise down National and get to School no problem; however, the weather had different plans. In the midst of passing Sunshine (another street here in Springfield) debrie started flying everywhere and was crashing down around my truck (I almost just pulled into someone's driveway to camp out the storm there but remembered hearing sirens so I quickly decided against it and sped off down National.

The rain (at about that time) decided it would be perfect for it to just unleash its fury and pour out buckets of water all over everything. It is a very good thing I have 4-wheel drive (people were stopping and getting stuck from what i learned later). One place in particular was really bad as it is an underpass which has a good 2-2.5 foot dip in it in which water could accumulate rather rapidly (as it did). Seeing everyone else stop (including a wrecker) I figured I could make it and sure enough went in fine, started to lag and switched it into 4x4 hi and made it right through (I cant say the same though because just behind me two other cars got stuck trying the same thing that I did without clearance and without all their wheels turning).

So tonight was fun, oh yeah...and then as soon as I pull in, security tells me I have to go down into Vick basement and just chill there till they tell us its all clear. After they tell us its all clear they tell us we may end up going into the cafe again (yay us.....*sarcasm*) So anyways, hopefully your night was eventful, but not as "eventful" as mine has been, hope whoever reads this has a great day, Peace

Today started off interesting (to say the least). While getting ready for church Carl walked in and asked if I had anything to cut a hole in his guitar strap so he could wear it at a more comfortable height. Of course I have my lockblade and pulled that out to use. Now, this knife is quite sharp and all, but i knew it would take a while to be able to stab through it the first time.

After getting done with the initial slot (because knives of course cant make holes) I ended up making the second incision and sliced my finger (left ring) quite far down. I went against my boy scout training and my martial arts training when dealing with knives so i guess in a way i deserved it, oh well (though i cant say that wont happen again).

On a more positive note our pastor from Seminole (Don Bair) headed down to Mexico to basically do a commencement for some Bible college students down there. I would ask that you please pray for them and their resolve while fullfilling their time commitment to college and then out into the ministry. Also, if you would, remember Bro Don and Mrs. Becky as they travel back up here that God would give them traveling mercies and that they would have a good time of fellowship and strengthening (from seeing the graduates from that college) on their return trip.

Also, we had a missionary speaker come tonight Mr. Smith from Belize (they are still on deputation and as such are in need of prayer support to make it through deputation on the field). He truly has a heart for the mission field (and so does his wife Rhonda), but the cool thing is how he is responding to God's will for his life after all this time.

Bro. Smith is 44 years old and only a few years ago decided to follow God's will instead of his own (his words) even though his wife had commited herself to missions when she was just 13. It was too cool to hear her thoughts on the subject as well (i wrote down both of their testimonies in case anyone is interested). They also have 4 children traveling with them and as such need support in that aspect as well (as parents traveling all the time with kids i can only imagine how hard that must be).

Church was too cool today and all in all this was a great Day (of course that is because it is His day, but that is to be understood). Hope everyone who reads this is having a great day. Later

Kinda bored so I guess I will update, yesterday I was definately not bored at all. I finally finished my paper for Indigenous Church and think it was relatively good (hopefully). Anyways I also procrastinated on my paper for hermeneutics and ended up doing that last night as well...Yay!!!!!...Oh and work is giving me more hours this week than I thought they would so that is definately a praise (instead of 8 hours im getting like 18 which is still better than nothing).

Sunday morning was interesting as well. Ever had that feeling that you thought you were in control of yourself and could overcome any fear or relative insecurity you have? Well i apparently was not as strong as I thought when singing in front of the college class on Sunday morning, I actually was shaking a little while on stage (and apparently strumming pretty fast). Anyways, that doesnt mean i will stop singing or leading, it just means I will allow myself to be led to do such and not rely on my own ability to sing or my own thought that because I have sung in front of so many people I had it handled. What really needs to be my focus is praising God while up there anyways...trying more and more to release my own reliance on strength and ability and give it to Him...Thats pretty much it, hope whoever reads this has a great day, Later

So yeah, last night was an awesome friday night praise. Instead of just staying inside "The House" and continuing on with our worship to God we went out into the front yard (about 50 people) and just sang out there. With the clear night and the cool breeze it was definately a sight to see. But that wasnt the point, the point was that we are to take what we were doing "in there" and use it to "fill the streets out there." Basically this was the whole reason we went out there to sing praise to God, but to help others see how great a God we have and maybe even ask questions. There were a few people who passed by, but none really stopped, regardless, it was very cool. Definately going to be one of the more memorable Friday nights.

What is so funny about this though is that I was very discouraged earlier in the day (for reasons that even I dont understand; seriously) and was borderline angry with no real thought for the way that I should think. So I ended up just praying for God to take away whatever was hindering my thought life and creating anger in my heart (again for no apparent reason) and you know what? He answered that with what He did at Friday night praise. Truly was too cool.

"Search me, O God, and know my heart: try me and know my thoughts: See if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting." Psalm 139: 23-24

hope whoever reads this has a great day, later all
